Franklin Goins Insurance Agency is a longstanding 3rd generation family-owned insurance business with a rich history that spans over seven decades. The agency was originally founded in 1949 by Franklin Goins, with a focus on providing fire insurance to farmers in the local community. This humble beginning marked the inception of a legacy that has continued to thrive and evolve.
In the mid-60s, Edward Goins joined his father, Franklin Goins, in the insurance industry, laying the foundation for a successful career in the field. By 1970, Edward established his own insurance agency, Edward F. Goins, Jr., and Associates, and in 1972, the agency moved to its current location 600 East Main Street, Frankfort, KY. The family tradition continued in the mid-70s when Kenneth Goins joined his father’s agency Goins Insurance located in downtown Frankfort.
In 1980, Edward and Kenneth joined forces, changing the name to Goins and Goins Insurance Agency, Inc. a testament to their commitment to serving their clients with excellence. Over the years, the agency faced various changes and challenges, including Edward’s son Frank’s departure in 2008 to become the Director of Property and Casualty at the Department of Insurance. However, in 2015, Frank returned to the insurance business, and in 2019, he acquired Goins and Goins Insurance and is operating under the DBA of Franklin Goins Insurance, as a heartfelt tribute to his grandfather and a celebration of the “generational blessings” that have enriched the agency’s history.
Today, Franklin Goins Insurance Agency continues to provide insurance solutions such as Auto, Home, Business Insurance, and Life insurance with the same dedication and family values that have defined its legacy since 1949.
